Public Speaking

Everyone has a story. I fully believe this. But as Frank McCourt said, "it just needs to be written." In fact, if you don't write it, there is zero chance that anyone will hear it. My talks show how writing and storytelling fill a primal need across cultures, across time, and how the world needs to hear YOUR story.

After 23 years in the college writing classroom and teaching creative writing in continuing education, I've helped hundreds of people unearth and claim their stories, and now I mentor and speak about writing and storytelling.

​

I am currently seeking opportunities to speak to groups, large and small. Women's groups, LGBTQIA+ groups, retirees, teachers and students (especially HS seniors and first-year college students), thought leaders and anyone with an important message burning a hole in your soul.

My workshops teach people how to get started with a satisfying and sustainable writing practice, and beyond to sharing, feedback and publishing, if that is your goal.
